Uncomfortable Grace
Liminality Series
30cm round birch plywood. Hand-painted ground with copper etching printed onto paper, carefully cut, composed, and adhered to the surface. Ready to hang.
A suspended moment held between weight and release, a figure drifting beneath the surface, caught in the quiet space between resistance and surrender.
Part of the Liminality Series, this work explores the surrender often required for internal change, progression, and renewal. The gesture suggests grace, yet it is not effortless, it is negotiated, held, and slightly strained. Here, healing is not soft or simple, but something that asks to be moved through.
The water, a recurring place of renewal, becomes both a support and a challenge — holding the body while asking it to let go.
